The region is under a weak low-pressure system. Today, expect more clouds at times, with some isolated showers mainly in the north and mountains. There may also be showers in the east, especially this afternoon. Snow or sleet could fall on the higher peaks of Troodos and other high mountain areas.
Winds will start from the north to northeast at 3–4 Beaufort inland and 4–5 Beaufort along the coast. Later, they will shift to northwest to northeast and become lighter. The sea will be slightly to moderately rough, easing a bit in the afternoon on the western and southern coasts. The temperature will reach 16 degrees inland, around 18 on the coast, and about 6 degrees in the higher mountains.
At night, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated showers. Snow or sleet is likely in the higher mountains and Troodos. Winds will come from northwest to northeast, moderate inland and sometimes strong on the coast. The sea will remain slightly to moderately rough. The temperature will drop to about 7 degrees inland, 9 on the coast, and 2 degrees in the higher mountains, where frost may occur locally.
On Wednesday morning, more clouds will bring local showers and possible snow or sleet in the mountains, but things will improve after that. On Thursday, expect mainly clear skies with a few passing clouds. On Friday, it will be partly cloudy with a chance of isolated showers mainly in the mountains.
The temperature will stay close to seasonal averages until Wednesday. From Thursday, it will rise a bit, while Friday’s temperature will remain stable, slightly above average for this time of year.
